Business Culture Workshop: TheChambers

Diversity; Inclusion & Culture Transformation

Diversity; Inclusion & Culture Transformation

As we discuss topics of Employee Engagement, Mentor-ship, Career Advancement, Innovation, Diversity and Inclusion, and more, we are actually talking about the nuances and complexities of work-life that drive success. These nuances can be easily encapsulated under the concept of culture, which organizations continue to invest heavily in due to its importance and complexity.

Diversity, Inclusiveness and Cultural transformation is extremely difficult because it requires collaboration from multiple stakeholders all moving towards a common goal with slow change over a long period of time. To simplify, I wanted to outline a simple space-map that explains the steps and factors which culminate in culture transformation.

  • START
  • SCALE
  • SUSTAIN

An Overview Conclusion

Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural transformation is extremely complex and must adapt to ever-evolving business culture and social cultural landscapes, so we must try our very best to simplify it by building a balance between structure and adaptability. The transformation is also built by people and our business culture strategies need to reflect this creativity, inclusiveness and diversity as well within the space.

Thinking Hat Questions

Considered, what do you think about this framework? How do we build the transformation that bridges the gap between individual and organizational needs? How do we build culture strategies that adapt easily to a quickly-evolving business culture strategy and social cultural landscape? What topic would you like to discuss during the workshop?

Business Culture Transformation Workshop Space 1 – START:

A spacemap to starts with having a good understanding of our current state. Understanding where we are is the first step to creating a vision, strategy, and processes that not only provide guidance and structure, but also flexibility for optimization and quick pivots. Laying the right groundwork comes down to answering several questions.

Questions to answer in the START phase: Thinking! Thinker!

  • What does BCT look like?
  • What are the desired outcomes?
  • What are the strong and weaker areas that may influence success?
  • What tools can we employ to drive successful BCT?
  • What infrastructure and metrics do we intend to employ to measure and track success?
  • Do we have contingencies in place if/when metrics don’t meet expectations?

Answering these questions is key to mapping a strategy and vetting potential services and tools we may employ to move forward.

Business Culture Transformation Workshop Space 2 – SCALE:

At this stage, you have (to a degree) determined your vision, goals, and even high-level tactics. Scale is arguably the most important requirement to achieve organizational BCT, and it takes more than one-off or sporadic training programs to be successful. The only way to truly drive business culture transformation and positive performance change is to target every level and facet of the workplace.

Questions to answer in the SCALE phase: Doer's!

  • Is this solution efficiently deplorable to an entire workforce?
  • Are these solutions/tactics/resources easily accessible by every level of the organization?
  • Do your tactics easily integrate with your tracking processes?
Business Culture Transformation Workshop Space 3 – SUSTAIN:

To state the obvious BCT does not happen overnight. Business Culture transformation is and should be rooted in an organization’s ability to build future leaders, nurture workplace relationships, and create a psychologically safe environment that allows people and innovation to thrive. Achieving this requires development resources and education that manifests over time and integrates seamlessly into the fabric of daily work life.

Questions to answer in the SUSTAIN phase: Manifestation

  • What is the impact of your strategies and tactics on the INDIVIDUAL?
  • Do your tactics focus on behavior change?
  • Does your strategy connect individual goals with organizational goals?
  • Does your strategy have the long term in mind?
  • Does your strategy recognized diversity, inclusiveness and change in transformation of the moment?
